Beginnings of a Flathead Lake Project

Summer thunder storms are awesome in the Flathead Valley, and even more so on Flathead Lake. I've seen some pretty crazy storms over the years spending summers on the lake. This Tuesday evening (June 29, 2009) I was sitting on the deck with my Aunt and Cousin with my camera in hand waiting for lightning to strike, and it did! The beginning images are before the lightning started. After that I continued to take 32 second exposures hoping to get some major bolts flashing through the sky. These are just a few of what I came up with.

I plan to continue to photograph the lake in the evenings all around Dayton, Elmo, Polson, Rollins, Somers, Big Fork and everywhere in between over the next few months. The final product will be in book form and prints will be available while I work on the project.
